Indian T20 League : History

The lucrative and most sought-after T20 tournament, the Indian T20 League is a multi-franchise T20 competition based in India, played during March, April and May. The inaugural edition of the league was held in 2008. Indian T20 League Format

The competition will include ten teams segregated into two groups. In the group stage, teams from the same group play each other twice in a round-robin style. During the group stage, teams from various groups will only face once.
Following the group stage, the top four teams in the points table advance to the play-offs. The playoff format differs from the direct knockout format.
