Alejandro Garnacho to sign a renewed contract for Manchester United 

Manchester United’s teenage sensation Alejandro Garnacho has reached an agreement in principle to sign a new five-year deal, awaiting a few final details concerning the image rights. The 18 year old is out of contract in 2024 but as per a source there is a financial consensus for him to extend his contract until 2028.

Before the terms can be made official, a few of the aspects concerning Garnacho’s image rights remain to be finalised.

The fresh deal will witness a salary adjustment according to his new status in Ten Hag’s squad due to the massive strides he has taken since making his first team debut last April. 

Garnacho since then has made 27 appearances for the red devils, scoring three goals, and has been one of the brightest prospects of the Premier League so far. 

As per the sources the player and the club have now reached an agreement following negotiations over the final elements of the deal and the length of the contract. His salary is expected to progressively increase as his role in the team grows

Both parties are eager for everything to be locked in and an official announcement could follow in the coming weeks. 

Negotiations over United’s sale are open with bids from Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and club officials for now have been told that, for now, its business as usual meaning contract talks with players are unaffected. 

Garnacho, who was signed by United from Atletico Madrid in 2020 has a Spanish father and an Argentine mother and is eligible to play for both the nations. 

He has represented both Spain and Argentina at the youth level and was part of the latter’s preliminary squad for the World Cup, although he did not make the final cut in the end and is yet to make a debut for Lionel Scaloni’s men.
