Roma has reached a deal with The Blues to sign Romelu Lukaku

The 30-year-old striker Romelu Lukaku is one step away from becoming part of AS Roma. The Giallorossi have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to borrow the Belgian bomber. Lukaku spent last season at Inter Milan on loan. However, the Nerazzurri then failed to recruit him permanently because the player was caught negotiating with Juventus. Lukaku's move to Juventus never materialized either. Bianconeri fans baulked at the arrival of the former Manchester United player in Turin.

After returning to Chelsea, Lukaku was not included in Mauricio Pochettino's plans this season. He has even recently been training with the Blues youth team and he turned out to be willing to accommodate Lukaku. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi have reached an agreement with Chelsea to borrow Lukaku.

Roma will borrow the Belgian bomber for a year and the loan fee is over £5 million it was also reported that he has agreed to move to Rome. The 30-year-old player will earn a salary of £8 Million at the Olimpico. Lukaku is scheduled to fly to Rome on Tuesday (29/8/2023) local time. He will be reunited with Jose Mourinho in Rome. The Giallorossi have been looking to add a striker to Jose Mourinho's squad, with the coach needing him even more following the long-term injury of Tammy Abraham. If all goes to plan, he could have some excellent options having seen his team lose to the likes of Alvaro Morata and Marcos Leonardo.
