Sydney Thunder (THU) and Brisbane Heat (HEA) will lock horns in match number 6 of the ongoing edition of the Australian T20 League on Tuesday, December 12 at the Manuka Oval, Canberra. This will be THU’s first match of the season. 

HEA, on the other hand, will play their third game. Their last match against Adelaide Strikers (STR) was called out due to incessant rain. With a win in the two games they have played so far, the men in blue find themselves at second position in the league standings. They registered a comfortable 103-run win in the tournament opener against Melbourne Stars (STA) courtesy Colin Munro’s unbeaten knock of 99. 

THU will look to start their 23-24 Aus T20 League campaign on a positive note. Led by Chris Green, the Sydney based franchise packs a punch in the batting department. They possess the likes of Matthew Gilkes, Alex Hales in their top order and have finishers in the form of Alex Ross, Daniel Sams and Green.  The bowling attack will be led by the veteran pacer Nathan McAndrew which also comprises Zaman Khan and Sams. Tanveer Sangha and Green will shoulder the spin bowling responsibility.

HEA looked solid during their opening day victory against the STA. They were clinical in all departments and hardly faced any trouble throughout the game. THU on the other hand will be eager to start their campaign with a win. They had an appalling 23-24 season and will thus be keen to make amends.
