Match 9: SCO vs HUR

Perth Scorchers (SCO) and Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) will lock horns in the 9th match of the AUS T20 League 2023-24 on Wednesday, December 20 at the Perth Stadium. SCO have won one out of their two games played so far.  Their opening tie against the Melbourne Renegades (REN) was abandoned due to rain, and with three points are currently positioned third on the points table. HUR on the other hand lost their opening game against Sydney Sixers (SIX). They are placed at sixth position after losing their only game on December 11. 

SCO faced Melbourne Stars (STA) in their most recent clash, where they opted to bowl first after winning the toss. STA were bundled out for a lowly 101, and only four batters managed to register a double-digit score. Jason Behrendorff was the pick of the SCO bowlers. He ended the game with impressive match figures of 3/28. SCO, then in reply chased down the total inside 14 overs to get their campaign off and running. 

HUR took the field against SIX in their last match and after winning the toss elected to bat first. Caleb Jewell top scored with a quickfire 24 ball 42 for the men in purple. In fact, he was the only HUR batter to cross the 20- run mark. 

HUR scored 135 runs in their quota of 20 overs. SIX won the game with four balls to spare. Corey Anderson (2/12) was the most successful bowler for the Hobart based franchise.
