Barcelona and Atletico have been knocked out of the UCL semis race

The top three Spanish sides were part of the UCL 2023-24 Quarter final this season, though Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were eliminated last night after having negative results against them.

However, the UCL giants Real Madrid is the only active club that remains in the UCL race, and they will face Manchester City in the second leg of the UCL Quarter-final clash at Etihad Stadium after playing a six-goal thriller which ended with a score line of 3-3 in the first leg of the competition.

Barcelona and Atletico fell short once again in the race of UCL semis, la Blaugrana was eliminated by PSG, while Atletico was eliminated by Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona won 3-2 at home to PSG in the first leg but lost 1-4 at home in the second leg and lost 4-6 on aggregate.

Atletico's fate was not much different, Atleti won 2-1 at home in the first leg but lost 2-4 in the second leg in Germany and lost 4-5 on aggregate. The record holder for 14 European Cup/Champions League Real Madrid titles is in quite a difficult situation when they face Man City.
