Chelsea thrashes Juventus while Group G is all set for the final clash

After Juventus defeated Chelsea in the first round of the competition, the team completely turned up and won 9 out of their 10 fixtures in all competitions. Chelsea is not just strong. They destroy their opponents these days and against Juventus something similar happened.

Out of the four goals that Chelsea scored against Juventus, three of them were scored by their home grown talent and out of which two goals were scored by their right backs. Trevoh Chalobah opened the floodgate and Reece James doubled the lead while Callum Hudson Odoi scored the third for the blues. In the dying moments of the match, German forward Timo Warner made it 4-0 and with that Chelsea moved to the top of the table in group H.

The defending champions were in full control of the match and their German coach was thrilled with the win at Stamford Bridge. In the post match presser, the German said, “It’s their biggest dream to perform at Stamford Bridge, to perform in blue, to be part of a strong Chelsea team”. He added, “I strongly believe this is a huge part of the success that we have in this mix”.

Group G on the other hand is all fired up. None of the teams have qualified for the next round and everything depends on the final match day. The defending champions of Ligue1, Lille are leading the group with 8 points while Red Bull Salzburg are 2nd in the group with 7 points, Sevilla being the third with 6 and Wolfsburg with 5 points are at the bottom of the table.

Lille will take on Wolfsburg and the German team needs to beat the French champions by at least 3 goals in order to qualify for the next round. Sevilla vs RB Salzburg will be a virtual final where the winners will remain in the Champions League while the loser may have to play Europa League or can even get knocked out from Europe depending on Wolfsburg’s performance. Salzburg can qualify for the next round even with a draw. Thus, without a shadow of a doubt, the group is lit up and the fans can’t wait for December 8 when they will take on each other on the final match day of the group stage in the Champions League.
