Roman Abramovich is all set to sell Chelsea football club!
Roman Abramovich, owner of the English giants, Chelsea Football Club is all set to sell the club amidst war tensions in his home country Russia. There was immense pressure for the media regarding stepping down from the role and as things stands, he will leave London but the process of bringing someone new might still take a little bit of time.
Under Abramovic, Chelsea won two Champions League and multiple Premier League titles. He was considered to be one of the best owners there in the land as the success rate for the team speaks on his behalf.
When asked about his reason and feelings for the club, Abramovich said, “As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the club’s best interest at heart”. He added, “As I have stated before, I have always made decisions with the club's best interest at heart”.
The former owner hasn’t given a date though. In an official statement, he said, “The sale of the club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process”.
He has also won the heart of all the Chelsea fans as the former owner mentioned that he will not be asking for any loans from the new owner as he loves the club more than the biz. “I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about money for me, but about pure passion for the game and club. Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all the net proceeds from the sale will be donated”.
