The 33-year-old, all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has retired from international cricket

On Monday, the Proteas team, 33-year-old, all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius retired from international cricket. He played a total of 60 matches in all three formats for South Africa. Pretorius will now be seen playing only T20 cricket and other leagues, for which he has said goodbye to international cricket. He was last seen in South Africa's jersey in October 2022 against India.

Thanking his coach and teammates, Pretorius said, "A few days ago, I took one of the toughest decisions of my cricketing career. I have decided to retire from all forms of international cricket. The only goal in my life is to have to play for the Proteas team.

"He further clarified that he is focusing on playing T20 and other shorter formats." Since then he did not get a chance to play for his national team and now he has decided to move forward in his life by announcing his retirement.

Sharing the post on the official Twitter handle of Proteas Men, the news of Pretorius' retirement has been shared with the fans. 

The 33-year-old Pretorius played three Tests, 27 ODIs and 30 T20 Internationals for South Africa. During this, apart from scoring 83 runs in 3 Tests, he also took 7 wickets. In 27 ODIs, Dwayne's bat smashed 192 runs and he managed to take 35 wickets. In 30 T20Is, the African all-rounder took 356 wickets apart from scoring 261 runs.
