After gaining a lead of 79 runs in the first innings, the England team was reduced to 275 runs in their second innings. In this way, on the third day of the Test match, Pakistan got a target of 355 runs. but they fell short by 26 runs. Rizwan and Shafique opened the innings for Pakistan, as Imam-ul-Haq was injured while fielding during England's second innings.
Rizwan and Shafique gave Pakistan a great start. Rizwan (30) returned to the pavilion with a total score of 66 runs. However, shortly after this, captain Babar Azam lost his wicket.
