Erik ten Hag doesn't like criticism at all

Erik ten Hag's former assistant, Aron Winter, recently revealed that the Manchester United coach is someone who doesn't like criticism. Manchester United is in a phase of ups and downs in performance. Both in the domestic league and in the Champions League. In the Premier League, they are stuck in sixth place in the Premier League standings with seven points behind Manchester City, the current leader. Even in the Carabao Cup, they were eliminated by Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, in the Champions League, the Red Devils had to recover after only winning once in the first four matches, losing the rest. Currently, they are at the bottom of the standings with only three points and have to battle for the one remaining match. Sharp criticism has begun to emerge regarding Erik ten Hag's recent performance with Manchester United. However, Aron Winter, who was Ten Hag's assistant at Ajax from 2017 to 2019, believes his former boss can turn things around. Although he admits, Ten Hag is not someone who likes criticism.

"When he gets criticism, he doesn't like it. He knows what he's doing," said Winter, who is now the coach of the Suriname national team, to The Sun as reported by the Mirror. "If you listen to all the criticism, you can go crazy. He has the quality to stay focused and work," he explained. According to Winter, the 53-year-old's figure is very structured and disciplined. Winning is always his target and he has proven that with Red Devils in his first season. "He is a very good coach, but also very strict and structured. He always thinks about how to win, and how to hurt the opponent. He showed it last year when he won the trophy," he added. "The problem now is injuries and their poor start to the season," he said.

This weekend, Manchester United will travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday. In the middle of next week, they will travel to Galatasaray(away) in the continuation of the 2023/2024 Champions League group phase.
