Ex-Indian skipper suggests Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of Fourth Test against England

India’s latest batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal struck an unbeaten double-ton to lead India to their biggest victory by run margin, this Sunday. The Indian Cricket Team on Sunday thrashed England by a 434-run margin in the third test held at Rajkot. With this victory, India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series.

While chasing a gigantic total of 557 runs, the Indian bowling lineup ran over England’s batting order and restricted them to a score of 122.

The Three Lions faced their second-biggest defeat in Test, since their 562-run loss against Australia in 1934.

The 22-year-old also registered a record-levelling 12 sixes in his stupendous knock of 214 runs out of which three back-to-back sixes came off the Test great, James Anderson’s over who has 696 wickets in 185 Test matches.

Jaiswal now shares the record with the former Pakistan legend Wasim Akram who also hit 12 sixes in a single inning against Zimbabwe in 1996.

The Mumbai batter is the leading run-scorer in the series with 545 runs in three Tests at an average of 109.00.

After the conclusion of the match, India’s former skipper and spin wizard Anil Kumble praised Yashasvi who has made headlines with his fearless approach in this series. He also said that Jaiswal can come in handy with the ball in hand as he was seen bowling leg spin during the net training sessions.

"Well done on your batting. But one thing that I have seen which I want you to continue as well is that you have a natural leg spin. Yes, and action. So don't give up on that. Because you never know when that will come in handy. know you've had a back spasm, but when you're working so much on it. Go tell the skipper to give a few overs," Kumble conveyed to Jaiswal.

"I'm always going and bowling, bowling and bowling. He (Rohit) told me to be ready, and I said yes I am ready," Jaiswal answered.

England won the inaugural match by 28 runs while India bounced back emphatically to take a 2-1 lead.

The fourth Test match against England starts on Friday in Ranchi.
