Faf Du Plessis sends this important message to the BLR batters after the loss against LUC

Bangalore skipper Faf Du Plessis was not satisfied with the performance of their top-order batters against Lucknow. The home side lost the match by 28 runs despite having everything in their favour, having won the toss and sending the rivals to bat first. The Proteas batter considered taking advantage of the flat pitch, but the Lucknow bowlers toppled BLR’s top order one by one starting with Virat Kohli, followed by Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell. Even Faf failed to lead the Red Devils from the front. 

Youth pace sensation Mayank Yadav didn’t allow the Bangalore batters to score runs and picked up three crucial wickets to crash the hosts out of the winning tracks. Green, Maxwell and Patidar were the ones to get beaten by his pace. In the post-match presentation, Faf stated Lucknow were 10-15 runs short of the total but still managed to win the match in a nail-biting thriller. 

“I think the target was within reach. We conceded a lot of runs in the powerplay overs, but the bowlers brought us back in the middle and death overs. It was an excellent effort to restrict Lucknow on 181. They were 10-15 runs short.

“Our top order didn’t fire again with the bat, and we lost the game. There are a lot of big characters in the dressing room, and they will have to put their hands up to complete the job for the team. The batters will have to bat more responsibly in the remaining games,” he concluded.
