Julio Baptista backs Zinedine Zidane to be Man United's next head coach

Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane received support from his ex-Los Blancos teammate, Julio Baptista, to pursue a career in the English Premier League. Specifically, Baptista said Zidane was suitable to handle Manchester United. The 51-year-old former French footballer Zidane's figure was not only successful when he was still actively playing. When he retired from the world of coaching, the 3-time consecutive UCL-winning head coach with Real Madrid man’s achievements was no less brilliant.

In total, Zidane won 11 trophies for Real Madrid as coach in two periods. This number includes two La Liga trophies and three Champions League titles won in three consecutive seasons. Thanks to his impressive achievements with Real Madrid, Zidane was awarded the 2017 FIFA Best Coach award and some other prestigious awards. Recently, the 42-year-old Baptista said that Zidane is the right person to coach the Red Devils one day. "I think he will be an EPL manager one day," Baptista told Ladbrokes Fanzone, quoted by The Sun.

“He is an extraordinary coach, with great experience having won the Champions League, so I can see it happening. I can see him going to Red Devils,” he added. Interestingly, Zidane's name was mentioned as the main target of MU shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe to replace Erik ten Hag. Zidane has still unemployed since leaving Real Madrid in 2021. Recently Zidane emphasized his desire to return to the world of coaching.

Ratcliffe also hopes to be able to meet the Frenchman's heart and lead a revolution in the Man United squad.
