Frankie De Jong is on the verge to join Manchester United!

After signing Erik Ten Hag from Ajax, it was in the rumours for months that the Red Devils will now go after the young midfield maestro Frankie De Jong. However, Xavi, the current manager of the Catalonian side denied any rumours and most importantly, De Jong in March said that he is ready to sign a six year contract if Barcelona offers him one. Everything can rest now as according to Gerard Romero, the Dutch International is heading to the Theatre of Dreams to play for Manchester United in the Premier League.

After the Bartomeu saga in Barcelona, the club needs to offload players every season and Frankie De Jong can be the latest victim of that. To sign new players at a cheaper rate, the team needs to get rid of players who can cost them a lot of money and by selling De Jong, President Joan Laporta could earn up to 70-80 million Euros.  

Romero, who is very reliable when it comes to transfer news of FC Barcelona, said that there's a 95% chance that the deal will go through and will be made official by the end of the month. The 25-year-old will thus reunite with his former coach of Ajax and will have a lot to prove. With Van De Beek and De Jong in the midfield, Ten Hag will bring the Dutch flavour and a mixture of Tiki Taka and Total Football can be seen at United next season.

With Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season is now more or less confirmed, De Jong can be the perfect fit for United. They still have to spend a lot of bucks in the market and sign a quality striker, a Central Defensive midfielder and a defender. Will Glazer spend so much money?
