GUJ-CHE to kickoff Ind T20 League 2023 on March 31

The Ind T20 League 2023 season will kick off on March 31 with a match between defending champions, Gujarat, and Chennai in Ahmedabad. The tournament's 16th edition will commence just five days after the inaugural Women T20 League concludes.

The opening game will be followed by a doubleheader on April 1, with Punjab facing Kolkata  in the first match, while Lucknow taking on Delhi in the second. Hyderabad will play Rajasthan on April 2, while Bangalore will battle Mumbai on the same day.

The league stage, which ends on May 21, will comprise 70 games, including 18 doubleheaders. The competition will revert to its usual home and away format, with all ten teams playing seven games at their home venue and seven away. 12 venues will host the league stage, with Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals playing two home games each in Dharamshala and Guwahati, respectively.

The tournament's previous full home and away format was in 2019. In 2020, the competition was entirely held in the UAE, while in 2021, the Indian leg of the tournament was halted due to COVID-19, and the second half of the season took place in the UAE. Although the Ind T20 League was hosted in India in 2021, only a few venues, Mumbai and Pune, were used to host the entire league stage.

The playoffs' venues and schedule will be revealed at a later time, but the final will occur on May 28.
