Harry Kane shines in Tottenham's 3-0 victory over Arsenal
Spurs humiliate Arsenal and keep their chance to qualify for Champions League alive!
Antonio Conte had a tough job in his hand when he took charge of a broken team at Tottenham but as we are at the business end of the tournament, the fans will be proud to see the brand of football Tottenham is playing. Arsenal, after a dreadful start to the season, changed their game and are in the 4th spot and is likely to qualify for the Champions League spot but after a humiliation in the hands of Spurs, Arteta will have to go back to the dressing room and work on certain things.
Spurs are 5th in the table with one point behind their fierce rival Arsenal. With 2 game weeks to go, anything and everything is possible. Against Arsenal, no one really gave Spurs a chance but the team went on to defeat them by 3 goals to nil. Harry Kane scored the first goal in the 22nd minute of the match after Rob Holding gave away an easy penalty to Spurs. Minutes later, another silly mistake from the Arsenal defender saw him getting the marching order. 4 minutes later to that incident, Harry Kane completed his brace with a brilliant diving header.
Seconds later after the resumption of play in the second half, Heung Min Son scored his 17th goal in the Premier League and with that Spurs took a 3-0 lead over Gunners. They made some efforts towards the end of the match but nothing conclusive though. The team failed to live up to its potential and has the risk of losing the top four spot if they fail to win the next two matches.
The result will not just help Tottenham to stay in the race to qualify for the Champions League but it can prove to be decisive as Daniel Levy and all of Tottenham wants Antonio Conte to continue at the club. He is the reason behind the success of the team for sure. He expressed his desire to leave the club if Tottenham fails to qualify for Champions League but even if he fails to do so, the management wants him to continue with the London-based club.
Reports suggest that Conte has an offer from Paris Saint Germain and he may head there after the reason. However, Premier League football is what drives him and if Tottenham decides to give him a free hand in the transfer window, this particular relationship can actually bring trophies to this great club.
