Chennai (CHE) and Rajasthan (RAJ) will go up against one another in match number 37 of the Indian T20 League 2023 on Thursday, April 27 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. He then removed Shahbaz Ahmed to reduce BAN to 12/2. Two quick wickets inside three overs with only 12 runs on the scoreboard.

RAJ couldn’t have asked for a better start. Things were looking all bright and sunny for the visitors but gloomy clouds soon took over. The fall of the second wicket brought Maxwell to the crease who alongside skipper Du Plessis stitched a 127-run stand to bring back BLR into the game. The pair smashed a barrage of boundaries to propel BLR to 189.

RAJ in reply lost the early wicket of Jos Buttler. The in-form batter was castled by Mohammad Siraj in the very first over of the run chase. Then the young duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal stepped up to the task and stabilised the RAJ innings. They shared a 99-run stand before Willey broke the partnership. Paddikal’s dismissal triggered a batting collapse. Dhruv Junel played a fiery cameo down the order but it went in vain as the visitors lost the game. 

The men in yellow in red hot form at the moment. They are on a three-match winning streak and have grown in confidence with every game. In the previous tie, CHE displayed a batting masterclass to swat aside a hapless Kolkata side. Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube and Devon Conway hit quickfire fifties to power CHE to a massive total of 234.

Rahane led the attack for CHE as he smashed an unbeaten 71 off 29 balls. KOL in reply could only muster 186 runs on the board, handing CHE a 49-run win. In the bowling department, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana picked two wickets apiece. So, overall this MS Dhoni-led side looks determined, confident and hungry to achieve more.
