Delhi and Chennai will square off for the 67th match of the Indian T20 League. The match is scheduled at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi on Saturday, May 20. 

The home side is out of the playoffs race and is currently placed in the 9th place of the Indian T20 League points table just one spot over Hyderabad with 10 points to their name. The Delhi openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw started off in a fantastic way unlike what they did in the whole season of the league. They both accumulated 94 runs with contributions of 46 from the skipper and 54 off Prithvi Shaw who was struggling to add runs this season.  Roussouw was the star of the show because of his blistering knock of 82* runs off just 37 deliveries. Phil Salt also finished off remaining unbeaten with 26 runs off 14 balls. All bowlers went expensive except Rahul Chahar and Sam Curran who went below the average of 10. Sam Curran was also the sole wicket-taker from the bowling side, he send both the openers back to the pavilion but overall failed to restrict the flow of runs. 

While chasing the huge target of 213 runs, Punjab lost an early wicket in the form of their skipper Shikhar Dhawan who got out on a golden duck. Also, their sole centurion Prabhsimran Singh went back scoring 22 off 19 deliveries. It was Atharva Taide and Liam Livingstone’s heroics who carried the match on their back till the very end. While Taide scored 55* runs off 42 balls before going back ‘Retired Out’, Livingstone went on a rampage smashing 94* runs off just 48 deliveries but all went in vain as Punjab lost the match by just 15 runs. These two batters gave their very best and were the only hopes for the Punjab side until the very end. Four batters went out for scoring no run which was the cause which the Shikhar Dhawan led side to chase the mammoth target.

On the other side, Chennai lost their last match at home against Nitish Rana-led Kolkata. They are presently sitting in second place in the points table with 7 wins and 15 points under their belt. In the match against Kolkata, Chennai went on to bat first, Conway scored 30 runs off 28 balls to give a decent start but it was the Kolkata bowlers who fished in the other batters and restricted them to a score of 144 runs. Only Shivam Dube remained unbeaten at a score of 48 runs. Both the mystery spinners, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy took a couple of wickets each along with Vaibhav Arora and Shardul Thakur who picked up a wicket apiece. 

Nitish Rana and Co. chased down the target in just 18.3 overs. The main contributors were skipper Nitish Rana (57* off 44) and Rinku Singh (54 off 43). Deepak Chahar took 3 wickets and was the only bowler to pick wickets for the Yellow Army.

The Delhi side will be up against Chennai in the match on Saturday. Chennai is the clear favourite in this game as they are in better form than the David Warner-led side. They will be confident in this game, but on the other side stands MS and his team, the five-time champions. Hence we fancy the Chennai side to win this game.
