Hyderabad will square off against Chennai on the 18th match of the Indian T20 League 2024. The game is scheduled to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, April 4.

HYD has been in fiery form this season. Although the points table shows that the team has lost two out of three matches, but every team facing the one-time champions should keep in mind that they were capable of winning all games with the class of firepower they possess. Pat Cummins and Co. faced their last loss against GUJ and that can be considered as the worst performance of the 2024 season.

However, having the best batting side in this tournament, they should focus on bouncing back stronger. Travis Head seems to be in the form of his life. Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad are among the Indian youngsters who are having their dream run this season. Also, with the presence of Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad, Hyderabad literally have everything that is needed to win an Indian  T20 League trophy.

The bowling side has been a bit loose this season. Although they have thrown away a bit of runs but have a lot of quality in their squad. With Aussie pacer Pat Cummins leading the pack consisting of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, and Umran Malik in his arsenal they can easily rattle over strong batting lineups. Though having too much power, they have conceded 200 runs in two out of three matches so they would need a better plan in this fixture to restrict Chennai’s batting side.  

CHE will come into this game after losing their last match against Delhi in Visakhapatnam. The loss came as a shocker to the Gaikwad-led side as they were the favourites to win. However certain positives in the match came in the form of MS Dhoni’s cameo down the order which more or less made Thala’s fans happy as they cherished the vintage Dhoni style. So to be more precise, Chennai has quality batters and bowlers so they would be a tough challenge for the Hyderabad side in the above fixture.
