Indian Legend Sunil Gavaskar criticize Ravindra Jadeja on his No-Balls in the 3rd Test
Sunil Gavaskar takes a heavy call on Jadeja’s wicket on No-Ball
On the first day of the third test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Jadeja dismissed Australian Batting Backbone Marnus Labuschagne in the 4th over, but it was declared a No-ball. On this, Cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar gives his reaction. Gavaskar said, “This is not acceptable. He has a few Man of the Match awards but is a spinner bowling no-ball. I think Paras Mhambrey has to sit down with him and make him bowl from behind. This could cost India.”
Early in the innings, Jadeja had gotten India a second Australian wicket by taking out Marnus Labuschagne, but the delivery was ruled a no-ball. However, Gavaskar's predictions have come true since Labuschange and Usman Khwaja forged a partnership of 50 runs. Australia was 71/1 at tea, with the visitors behind only 38 runs.
Earlier in the day, Australia lost Travis Head at 12 in the second over, and India was bowled out for 109 runs. Only Virat Kohli (22) and Shubman Gill (21), who got off to a shaky start on a dangerous track where the ball spun dangerously and often stayed low, could not continue. Nathan Lyon recorded 3-35, while Matt Kuhnemann had 5-16 in his second test as one of Australia's best bowlers.
After casting Labuschagne, Jadeja was nearly ready to hurt the Australians. Nevertheless, as soon as Labuschagne started to turn around, the umpire called for a no-ball check. Jadeja was spotted going too far and saving Labuschagne. Jadeja's second no-ball of the inning was this one.
Despite having all these no-balls, finally, it was the Jadeja himself who dismissed the Labuschagne. Other than Marnus, all the wickets were picked by Jadeja, including Smith, Khawaja, and Head.
At the end of day 1, the Aussies are 156/4 in 54 overs, with Peter Handscomb (7 runs on 36 balls) and Cameron Green (6 runs on 10 balls) on strike. Team India is ahead from 2-0 in the four matches test series. The last test of the ongoing BGT () series will begin on March 9 in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
