Ishan Kishan To Be Removed From Central Contracts By The Indian Cricket Board?
Reports: Ishan Kishan To Be Removed From Central Contracts By The Indian Cricket Board
Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been absent from the cricketing field for a prolonged period since last December. Due to his actions, he is likely to face the impact of the Indian Cricket Board for staying out of action for a long time.
The 25-year-old dynamic batter, cited mental fatigue to take a break after playing the T20I series against Australia and since that time, he hasn’t appeared for selection. The Indian team management and board members have almost no clue about his return to the international arena, making them take such a sullen step.
The Indian senior cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid, recently said in a press conference that the left-handed batter will have to play in the Ranji Trophy in order to be eligible for the England Test series. Yet, there have been no gestures from him to return back to action.
Some reports also suggest that the Indian Cricket Board are making the rules stricter for all the senior players to feature in the Ranji Trophy if they are fit and still not in the national side for the forthcoming matches, which indicates that the apex council wants the ones to get out of the franchise cricket mood and get back on the nets for the domestic arena.
Further reports claim that Ishan Kishan could lose a central contract (Grade C) as all contracts are set for renewal. This news comes after the Pandya brothers were seen practising along with Ishan Kishan at the Kiran More Academy which potentially hinted at their comeback to the famous Indian franchise cricket league.
In the meantime, Team India is already missing the services of Mohammed Shami and Virat Kohli and KS Bharat is playing as the keeper in the series against England. This makes Ishan Kishan the first choice if he did get included in the squad.
