Isle of Man cricket team bowled out for a record low of 10 runs
Isle of Man cricket team records the lowest-ever T20 score of just 10 runs against Spain
Isle of Man were bowled out for just 10 runs in an international cricket match against Spain on Sunday, which is the lowest-ever total in the history of Men’s T20I Cricket.
Joseph Burrows was the top scorer from the Isle side with four runs while the seven other men were dismissed for zero runs. Left-arm pacers Atif Mehmood and Mohammad Kamran took four wickets a piece. Kamran’s four-wicket haul came with a hattrick in the third over when he send back Luke Ward, Carl Hartmann and Edward Beard back to the pavilion respectively.
While retaliating, the Spanish side snatched a victory off just two balls after their opener Awais Ahmed hit two back-to-back sixes. The previous record of the lowest score in this format was of the Sydney franchise in the Australian T20 League which was held in Australia last year.
Before the match on Sunday, the lowest total in T20 International had been 21 which was made by Turkey against the Czech Republic back in 2019.
Previously that day, there had been no hint of such a surprising event. Isle of Man put on a total of 132 runs for a loss of 8 wickets before Spain throttled to victory by seven wickets with 45 balls left to spare.
The Isle of Man was made an associate member of the International Cricket Board in 2017 and competed in the World Cup qualifiers in 2016 and 2018.
