"Silence Is Sometimes…": Jasprit Bumrah's Cryptic Insta Story Raises Questions 

Team India’s failure in the World Cup ODI 2023 hasn’t been easy for the top-ranked players. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, etc have yet not speak a word on the defeat after a 10-match unbeaten streak. When all the top stars are enjoying a break, Jasprit Bumrah took to Instagram to share a cryptic story that has interested fans who have been trying to decode it hard.

The Indian star pacer was among the top Indian performers in the World Cup who faced a humiliating defeat when Travis Head’s century ended India’s dream of lifting the ODI World Cup after 12 long years. 

Since then, it’s about 10 days later from the conclusion of the marquee event, that Bumrah came up with such a heads up.

It is not clear what message Bumrah wants to convey in his post. It could be a response from him to the netizens regarding his silence on Team India’s failure to win the World Cup. However, there are speculations that it may also be the indication that Bumrah was rested against his will. The selectors chose young players like Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Yash Dayal while resting the likes of Bumrah and Shami. 

As the young Indian lineup tests themselves against the mighty Aussies, questions have been raised over the selection of a few senior cricketers. There is very little transparency over the future of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, etc in the T20 format of the game. 

As of now, Bumrah isn’t a part of India’s squad against Australia for the five-match T20I series and we are quite hopeful about his return in the upcoming games. The pacestar will surely book a slot in the Indian squad when the team flies to South Africa for a Test series.
