Jasprit Bumrah pulled out from the Indian squad for the ODIs against Sri Lanka: Report

Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah will not play the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which will begin on Tuesday, 10th January. The Indian apex council have decided not to rush him into action too soon. Bumrah is not among the other squad members who have reached Guwahati, the stage for the first ODI.

The Indian Cricket Board earlier stated that Bumrah has been added to the ODI list as per the recommendations of the selection committee. "The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India's ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka," the apex council earlier stated in a January 3 media release.

The ace speedster has been out of action since September 2022 and was also ruled out of the Men’s T20 World Championship 2022 due to a back injury. "The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy. He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon," the Indian Cricket Board said further.
