The 31-year-old Jaydev Unadkat has created history in the Ranji Cup. He took a hat trick in the very first over against Delhi in the Ranji Cup. The left-arm fast bowler also became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the first over of the first-class tournament Ranji. Saurashtra and Delhi are currently facing each other in this tournament (Ranji Cup 2022-23). Jaydev Unadkat has highlighted his name with former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan. The Left-arm fast bowler Pathan is the only bowler in the history of Test cricket to take a hat-trick in the first over. He achieved this milestone on 29 February 2006 in a match against Pakistan in Karachi. He took 3 wickets in the last 3 balls of the first over. Pathan dismissed Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf. Although Team India faced a huge defeat in this test.

Jaydev Unadkat had earlier made a comeback in Test cricket after a gap of 12 years, when he turned out for India in the second Test against Bangladesh in December 2022. Jaydev Unadkat has taken 3 wickets in 2 Tests for India. His first-class record is excellent. Before this match, he had taken 356 wickets in 97 matches at an average of 23. 7 wickets by giving 41 runs are the best performance. He has done the feat of taking 5 wickets 20 times and 10 wickets 5 times.

Earlier, The left-arm fast bowler was bought at his base price of ₹50 Lakh by KL Rahul-led Lucknow at the Indian T20 League 2023 mini auction last month.
