Jurgen Klopp praised the players for their incredible match performance against Norwich City

The 56-year-old Liverpool coach appreciated the welcome he received from the fans when the Hosts Liverpool beat Norwich City in the FA Cup. He also praised the role of his three team members who performed spectacularly in the match.

The Reds successfully defeated the Championship division team in the fourth round of the 2023/24 FA Cup while playing at Anfield, on Sunday, the home team won with a score of 5-2. The eight-time FA Cup champions scored goals each from Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch. Liverpool will next face the winner of either Watford or Southampton after Sunday's fourth-round tie ended in a 1-1 draw.

"I understand, it's very emotional, but I have to calm myself. I take all the messages. It was the best performance from everyone involved, very good," Klopp told ITV. This is the first match since Klopp announced he was leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. There were plenty of banners, signs, t-shirts and chants in support of the coach before, during and after the emotional match on Merseyside.

"The atmosphere today, the people showed me everything and it was amazing and I loved it and it was amazing," said Klopp. "However, we need an atmosphere on the pitch and for that we need the roar of the crowd to not think about my fate. "I'm very sorry to have to say that and things like this, but that's how it is. Now we just need to forget about it for a moment and face every opponent with enthusiasm."

Meanwhile, another positive thing for the Reds is the return of Andy Robertson, who has been absent since October due to a dislocated shoulder, as well as wing-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

With Premier League games against Chelsea and Arsenal next week, their return is a welcome boost. "It's very important for us to give them playing time. Trent and Dom are not out for too long, but Robbo is out for a long time and every minute they get is very important and here it helps to share the intensity," added Klopp. "We played quite well without them, so it's about how we play. We have to make sure we are a team that Chelsea and Arsenal are afraid of."

Meanwhile, the German coach praised the role of the three young players who were stars in the victory against Norwich. According to him, James McConnell, Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah have shown maturity as young players. "James McConnell I chose in sixth position because we lost a lot of players [in that position]. Conor Bradley has everything as a right-back. You can talk to him about tactics, he understands. "Jarell Quansah is a mature central defender and nothing else. Our important players are back and we will play again in three days."
