Kolkata and Ahmedabad will host the playoffs, eliminator and the final of Indian T20 League
It was in the news for quite some time but on Tuesday, the Cricket board of India officially announced the schedule for the next phase of the tournament. Kolkata’s Eden gardens will host the 1st qualifier while Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be in charge of hosting the 2nd qualifier. Kolkata will host the Eliminator while the finals will be hosted by Ahmedabad in the biggest cricket stadium of the world.
Among all this, some fans in India smell some controversy as the President of the board and the secretary of the board are allowing games to happen in their home state only. Sourav Ganguly is from Kolkata while Jay Shah from Ahmedabad is the two leading officials in the board and thus, people are taking a dig at both of them.
Meanwhile the 1st qualifier is scheduled to happen on 24th of May while the Eliminator will be played on 25th. The 2nd qualifier will be happening on 27th of May and the finals of the biggest t20 festival in the world is scheduled to happen on 29th of May, 2022.
