Napoli stunned Juventus in match 27 of Serie A

The seventh-placed Napoli successfully beat Juventus with a tight score of 2-1 in the 2023/2024 Serie A match 27 which took place at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday(03 March 2024). The 23-year-old Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's goal at the end of the first half was equalized by Federico Chiesa. However, the 24-year-old striker Giacomo Raspadori scored a goal late in the second half to ensure victory for the hosts.

With this result, the Blues now have moved to seventh place in the standings with 43 points, on the other hand, the Old Lady is still stuck in second place with 57 points after 27 league matches. The Hosts Napoli dominated possession of the ball from the start of the match. However, it was Juventus who created several dangerous opportunities, unfortunately, the 24-year-old Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic's final finish was still far from expectations and his team fell short against Napoli.

Napoli's dominance only came to fruition in the 42nd minute through Kvaratskhelia's action when he received a rebound, the 23-year-old striker fired a first-time volley which Wojciech Szczesny couldn't stop. Just before the end of the first half, Vlahovic again had a good opportunity, unfortunately, the shot still didn't reach the target and the score was 1-0 for Napoli's advantage to last until halftime.

In the second half of the game, the Visitors tried to increase the intensity of their attacks in search of an equalizer. However, Juventus' opportunity through Andrea Cambiaso's action still failed to produce a goal. The 36-time Serie A league winners Biaonceri's tireless efforts finally paid off after Chiesa successfully found the net against Alex Meret in the 81st minute. Meret failed to stop Chiesa's hard shot from the right and just five minutes later, the Hosts received a penalty after VAR judged Joseph Nonge to have fouled Victor Osimhen in the forbidden box. Osimhen also stepped forward to become the architect of the game however his penalty shot was still saved by Szczesny. However, Raspadori moved quickly to score the ball which extended the score line to 2-1 in favour of the hosts and secured a thunderous win over Juve.
