The 9th match of the ongoing Major T20 League will be played between Washington and Los Angeles on Friday, July 21. The game is scheduled at Church Steel Park in Morrisville. 

WF have won only one match in the tournament and that's against TSK meanwhile LAKR are lying at the bottom of the points table with three straight defeats in the last three matches. Hence Washington will be trying hard to get an easy win to defeat Los Angeles in this match to move up the ladder.

Washington batters have failed to set the stage on fire as a unit in the Major T20 League thus far; however, Matthew Short smashed a crucial for WF in the previous game versus TSK, which appeared sufficient for the team to earn the first victory in the tournament. In terms of bowling, Marco Jansen and Akeal Hosein were quite effective, but they will need assistance from other bowlers in the squad in the following matches.

After being struck out for only 50 runs against TSK, LAKR’s batting lineup performed much better in their second Major T20 League match. With the bat, Jason Roy, Andre Russell and Nitish Kumar put up a brave effort against San Francisco, but it wasn't enough to secure their maiden league victory. LAKR's bowling performance against SFU in the last match was dismal, except Adam Zampa, who was the main reason for their defeat.

Los Angeles must win their next match to remain in contention for the Major T20 League playoffs. Their next opponent, Washington, has consistently improved in the league, which is not a good indication for them. Hence we expect WF to win this match against LAKR.
