Anthony Martial to exit Man Utd in Summer- source

Manchester United is bracing for the departure of Anthony Martial this summer, as reported by a source. Despite manager Erik ten Hag's recent indication of ongoing contract negotiations, the club has not activated an extension to Martial's current deal, which would have tied him to Old Trafford until June 2025.

Ten Hag confirmed in a news conference that discussions are taking place with Martial and his representatives, but insider information suggests that a new contract is unlikely to materialize. Without an agreement on fresh terms, the 28-year-old Frenchman will exit the club on a free transfer in the upcoming summer.

Martial, who joined Manchester United from Monaco in 2015, has had an eight-and-a-half-year tenure, contributing 90 goals in 317 appearances for the team. Unfortunately, he has been sidelined for the past month due to illness, and Ten Hag has indicated that he is not expected to be available for the FA Cup third-round tie against Wigan Athletic on Monday.

In contrast, the club has taken action to secure the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelöf by triggering one-year extensions that will keep them under contract until 2025. However, Manchester United has decided against a similar option for Raphaël Varane, although they remain open to negotiating an extension with reduced terms for the defender.

Varane, whose contract expires in June, has been free to negotiate with clubs outside the Premier League since January 1. United is exploring options to keep him, but as of now, no decisions have been finalized.

Additionally, the club is inching closer to loaning Jadon Sancho back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund. The German side is expected to pay a small loan fee and contribute to the 23-year-old's wages. Ten Hag remained tight-lipped on the matter, stating, "I can't say anything about that. We have to wait and see how things are going. When we have news, we will tell you. I can't say anything about this subject because there is no news."
