Preview 

After a convincing win in their last tie Bangalore will look to carry the winning momentum and consolidate their position in the top four. Punjab on the other hand find themselves at a precarious place. Currently positioned at seventh, Mayank Agarwal and co cannot afford to slip further. They must win to stay in the play off race. Both teams will square off at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday in match number 60 of the Indian T20 League. 

As we are heading towards the business end of the tournament, things are getting interesting. The top four battle is getting fierce with every match. Bangalore will have this on their back of the mind and will try to give it all. While they did manage to overpower Hyderabad in their last fixture, they still need to fill in a few gaping holes. Virat Kohli’s miserable form is one of those issues. The star batsman has struggled to find his feet in the tournament and is yet to make a considerable impact in a game. His opening partner and skipper Faf Du Plessis found some form in the recent encounter which is a good sign for the team. Batting department looks a little thin despite having the likes of Kohli and Faf. Dinesh Kartik has been a revelation at the lower order and he is someone Punjab bowlers need to be wary of. Josh Hazlewood will shoulder the bowling responsibility which also has Wanindu Hasaranaga and Harshal Patel. With 2 wins on the trot Bangalore will be heading into this game with a lot of confidence. 

Punjab need to win this one in order to keep their playoff chances alive. A dismal bowling performance against Rajasthan resulted in a loss in their last game. Their batting looks potent with Bairstow, Dhawan and Livingstone in the mix. In the bowling department they lack the services of a quality spinner. With just a solitary spinner in the form of Rahul Chahar, Punjab have clearly struggled. Chahar hasn’t found his rhythm this season. Pace bowling looks decent with Rabada leading the attack. Ahead of this do or die game, Punjab must address their bowling concerns.
