Matheesha Pathirana replaces injured Adam Milne in the Chennai squad

Chennai on Thursday named the replacement for Adam Milne who has been ruled out of   the T20 competition due to injury. The kiwi pacer suffered a hamstring in the tournament opener against Kolkata and weeks later the 30 year old makes way for a young medium pacer. 

Matheesha Pathirana is an upcoming Sri Lankan medium pacer. The 19 year old was a part of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 camp in 2020 and 2022. Recognized for unorthodox bowling action, Matheesha is often compared with the evergreen Lasith Malinga. It will be interesting to see what the youngster brings to the fascinating tournament. According to sources, Matheesa will sign the four time champions for a base price of INR 20 LAKH.
