New Zealand T20 League

27th Match: NOR vs CES

Preview

NOR and CES will cross swords for the 27th match of the ongoing New Zealand T20 League. The match will be scheduled at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Friday, February 02, 2023. NOR are placed in third place with 3 wins, 3 losses and 3 matches with no results. CES are sitting just below them with 4 wins, 4 losses and 1 match with no result.

NOR and CES meet previously in the 8th match of the league where CES won by 3 wickets. NOR while batting first posted a massive target of 217 runs on the scoreboard. Openers Katene Clarke and Tim Seifert scored 41 and 59 runs respectively to put his team to a fantabulous start. Skipper Jeet Raval carried forward the rhythm by smashing another 60 runs in just 29 balls. In the end, Scott Kuggeleijn made a perfect finish by scoring another 27 runs off just 11 balls to take their team to such a huge score. Skipper Tom Bruce and Raymond Toole took three wickets each along with Doug Bracewell who picked two but all went in vain as they failed to hold the ropes tight and restrict the run flow.

In the second innings, CES while chasing such a huge target, was deprived of a good start by their openers. Dane Cleaver and Ross Taylor scored 30+ runs. Then came Josh Clarkson who smashed 58 runs off just 29 balls. Doug Bracewell also contributed with the bat showing off his all-round performance. His 39 runs off just 18 deliveries was enough to put the final nail into the coffin.

CES comfortably covered the huge target in just 19.4 overs with 3 wickets to spare.

Pitch & Weather Report

The ground at Seddon Park in Hamilton is a fast track with good bounce and it will favour the batters. The pacers will also relish bowling here as they can get good movement off this track. The spinners will struggle on this surface. The average first-inning score in New Zealand T20 League is around 170 runs.

There is a very high possibility of downpours in Hamilton on January 6, Friday and rain might spoil the game to some extent or the whole match. Heavy clouds are expected to be all over the sky and the temperature will be around 23 degrees Celsius. Already two matches played here have ended without any result.
