William Gallas believes recruiting Victor Osimhen alone would not guarantee success for the Blues

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas said that recruiting Victor Osimhen would not guarantee that the Blues would perform better. Chelsea has made a major overhaul of its squad in the Todd Boehly era many players have come to Stamford Bridge. However, they did not bring in enough players in the attack line in the center forward post, the Blues only have Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, plus Christopher Nkunku.

Unfortunately, Nkunku was previously injured meanwhile, Jackson's performance did not meet expectations, while Broja was finally loaned to Fulham. Chelsea then reportedly wanted to buy new players in the attack line several names have been linked, one of which is Napoli striker 25-year-old star forward Victor Osimhen. However, the transfer plan received criticism from William Gallas, he feels that Osimhen alone will not be able to make a difference at Chelsea and the club must bring in other players.

“Victor Osimhen to Chelsea? One player will not make a difference and change things for Chelsea," Gallas claimed at Genting Casino, via Goal. “Even if they buy one striker, you have to be sure that the players around him have the quality to supply that striker. "The squad is still very young, so next year we might see an improvement in the team and they might compete in the Premier League."

William Gallas then asked Chelsea to postpone the decision to buy Victor Osimhen. He asked them to first allow Nicolas Jackson to show his abilities. The 46-year-old veteran said Jackson must be able to improve his performance in front of goal and score more goals, especially on the Premier League stage. And if the 22-year-old striker ultimately cannot show his abilities, then Chelsea can decide to buy a new striker. "If Jackson can't reach 15 Premier League goals or more, then Chelsea need a top striker because currently they don't have one, he has to prove it now," Gallas exclaimed.

"If he doesn't achieve between 15 and 20 goals in the Premier League, it will be difficult for him to keep his place in the team next season. Chelsea will bring in a new striker," stressed Gallas.
