Preview 

Host Multan Sultans (MUL) will be eager to continue their purple patch in the tournament when they take the field against Lahore Qalandars (LAH) in the seventh match of the Pakistan T20 League 2024. 

Currently, Multan are positioned at the top of the points table. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan  will be hoping that his side can continue the winning momentum. In the batting department, the team will count on the in-form opener Dawid Malan, captain Rizwan, SA international Reeza Hendricks, England’s bowling all rounder David Willey and Pakistan’s hard hitting all rounder Iftikhar Ahmad to do the majority of scoring. 

In their opening game, Reeza Hendricks displayed remarkable form with bat in hand and finished as the top scorer (58) for MUL. Besides Hendricks, skipper Rizwan also looked in good touch scoring 43 off 33 balls on the back of six fours and two maximums. 

The bowling attack will possess the likes of Mohammad Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani, Usama Mir and David Willey. In their last outing pacer Mohammad Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Multan. He ended the game with impressive match figures of 3/19. Left arm orthodox spinner Abbas Afidi delivered timely breakthroughs and took 3 wickets in his quota of four overs. 

Defending champions, Lahore, on the other hand will be looking to turn things around after back to back losses in their last two matches. Skipper Shaheen Afridi will be hoping his side can put up an improved show on Wednesday. 

Sahibzada Farhan, Rassie Van der Dussen, Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman will be the batters to watch out for. In the last match, opener Sahibzada continued onto his merry ways and played a well crafted knock of 62. Besides Farhan, all rounder Jahandad Khan scored an unbeaten 45 off only 17 balls studded with six fours and three sixes.    

In the bowling department, the team will be relying on the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, Haris Rauf and Salman Fayyaz to provide crucial breakthroughs.
