PCB expresses displeasure over the delay in their team obtaining visas

The Pakistan Cricket Board has conveyed its resentment to the International Cricket Board over the delay in the Pakistan Cricket Team acquiring visas for the ODI World Series, and warned of the unfavourable impact it could have on the team’s preparation for the tournament. Pakistan is scheduled to travel early in the morning on Wednesday, but the visas have still not been provided.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had reported the matter to the International Cricket Board, but on Monday, nearly 48 hours before team’s scheduled flight and with no visas in hand, it has formally written a letter to International Cricket Board, stating that such unfair treatment to their team as they are the only travelling side without visas at the instance- would not be tolerated. The Pakistan Cricket Board has asked the global body what steps it is taking to resolve the issue, and whether written guarantees were submitted by the hosts.

As of now, Pakistan is due to fly first to Dubai, transit, and subsequently reach Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. They will play their first World Series warm up game against New Zealand on Friday.
