Ravindra Jadeja joins the Elite list with Kapil Dev and Imran Khan
Jadeja becomes the 11th player to score 5000 runs as well as complete 500 wickets in International cricket

Team India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja completed his 500 wickets in international cricket on Wednesday (March 1) on the first day of the match. The number one all-rounder in the test achieved this milestone by dismissing Australia's opener Travis Head on 09. Jadeja has taken four wickets in the first innings while conceding 78 runs in 32 overs and after Head's wicket, he removed Steve Smith(26), Usman Khawaja(60), and Marnus Labuschagne(31) and took his tally to 503 wickets across all 3-formats of the game in 298 games for team India.
The left-arm spinner Jadeja has taken 263 wickets in 63 Tests, 189 wickets in 171 ODIs and 51 wickets in 64 T20 matches. He joined the elite list with India's first-ever WC winner Kapil Dev and former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan in the exclusive club of completing 500 wickets takers.
Talking of records, Jadeja is the second Indian player to score 5000 runs as well as take 500 wickets in international cricket. He has scored 5,527 runs in 298 international matches across 241 innings at an average of 33.29. The left-handed batter has scored 3-hundreds and 31 half-centuries, with the best individual score of an unbeaten 175. 34-year-old Jadeja became the 11th player to score 5000 runs as well as complete 500 wickets. He has taken the most 21 wickets in 3 matches in the ongoing BGT test series against Australia.
Team India's legend Kapil Dev scored 9031 runs in 356 international matches and took 687 wickets. The 64-year-old great all-rounder took 434 wickets in 131 Tests and 253 wickets in 225 ODIs, taking his total to 687 wickets in international cricket. Kapil Dev scored 5248 runs in Test matches and 3783 runs in ODIs.
Apart from Kapil and Jadeja, other players in world cricket who have achieved this distinction include South Africa's Jacques Kallis (25,534 runs and 577 wickets) and Shaun Pollock (7,386 runs and 829 wickets). Pakistan's Imran Khan (7,516 runs and 544 wickets) and Wasim Akram (6,615 runs and 916 wickets) and Shahid Afridi (11,196 runs and 541 wickets). England's Sir Ian Botham (7,313 runs and 528 wickets), Sri Lanka's Chaminda Vaas (5,114 runs and 755 wickets). New Zealand's Daniel Vettori (6,989 runs and 667 wickets) and Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan (13,445 runs and 653 wickets).
