Indian T20 League: All Time XI

Indian T20 League is unsurprisingly the grandest and most decorated T20 leagues in the world. Recognized for bringing in the freshest talents from all across the globe together, the prodigious event certainly features a great mix of international stalwarts and domestic stars. In the 14 years of its existence, we have witnessed a profusion of players who have done exceptionally well but amongst these lot, there’s always one who stands out with his string of impressive performances throughout the season. At the end of every season, the player with the most consistency is awarded with the ‘most valuable player’ title. While the most consistent performer receives laurels, you can win exciting cash rewards by drafting these proven champions in your fantasy cricket team. Today, we will have a look at the greatest fantasy team of all time (IND-T20 League Edition)

Wicket Keepers

(i) MS Dhoni: It would be fair to say that the Indian T20 League is incomplete without the charismatic MS Dhoni. His contributions with the bat and behind the stumps for the Chennai franchise is unparalleled. Regarded as the best finisher this game has ever seen, the Chennai skipper has been a vital cog for the side during their title-winning run in 2010,2011, and 2018. The way he carries his demeanor in and off the field is beyond commendable. With 4699 runs at a staggering average of 40.25, ‘Magnificent Mahindra’ is a certified batting powerhouse. Apart from power hitting, the Indian veteran is also a very safe customer with gloves in hand, probably the best when it comes to wicket keeping. He is my first pick for the wicketkeeper of the fantasy team.

(ii) AB de Villiers : The former SA wk-batsmen has been the stalwart of the lucrative league over the years. He has played a total of 176 games with over 5000 runs at a flabbergasting average of 40.77. The northpaw is a quality striker of the ball and a master at putting the games to bed. Besides being a destructive batsmen, the South African is also a safe wicket keeper.

Batsmen

(iii) David Warner : The Aussie opener is probably one of the most consistent players of the cash rich league. He has amassed heavy runs across different editions and is easily among the finest batsmen for a few years. The former skipper of Hyderabad has been persistently among the leading run scorer list over the years and on three occasions has bagged the orange cap which is given to the batsman who piles up the maximum runs at the end of every season.

(iv) Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli’s insatiable appetite for runs is somewhat similar to the great Sachin Tendulkar and that is why he has been so successful in every format. The Bangalore skipper has aggregated more than 6000 runs at an astonishing average of 37.97 with four hundreds in a single season. If you are planning to compete in the space of online fantasy cricket this year with the best fantasy cricket app, he is someone you should definitely consider for your squad/squads.

(v) Rohit Sharma: The Mumbai skipper is one of the many reasons why the Mumbai side has been so dominant in the tournament through the years. His IND-T20 league career has been full of victories. Back in 2009, when he played for the now defunct Deccan Chargers he held his maiden IND-T20 League  trophy and now he is the leader of the 5 times and the reigning champions Mumbai. With roughly around 5000 runs, the hitman is certainly one of the best players of white ball cricket.

(vi) Suresh Raina: You cannot have a list of the greatest IND-T20 players and not feature Suresh Raina in it. He is the top run getters for the Chennai franchise and is currently positioned at number three in the all time highest run scorers list. The Chennai stalwart holds immense experience in this format and is certainly the most destructive batsman in this team. Besides his prowess as an explosive batsmen, the former Indian star is also a handy off spinner and a gun fielder, giving him an edge over others.

All-rounders

(vii) Dwayne Bravo(c): Unquestionably the greatest all rounder of the IND-T20 League. The Caribbean has been instrumental in Chennai’s success in this tournament. Whether it is with bat in hand or with his deceptive pace with the ball, the 37 year old has always delivered. No one can forget his last ball six against Kolkata in 2015, or his match swinging spell against Delhi in 2019. His prowess as a quality all rounder makes him a valuable asset for the team. He is my pick for the captain of this team.

(viii) Keiron Pollard: A Mumbai veteran, Polly has been through the thick and thin of the side. He is unsurprisingly among the goats of the limited overs format. With 171 games under his kitty, the senior all rounder has been instrumental in the defending champions dominance in the tournament. He has amassed over 3000 runs and picked over 63 wickets.

Bowlers

(ix) Jasprit Bumrah: For years the Indian T20 League has produced numerous wizz kids who have made it to the international circuit. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most prolific byproducts of the cash rich league. No other cricketer has made as much progress as Jassi. Shattering all myths and the conventional notions, the right arm pacer has emerged to be one of India’s finest bowlers across all formats. From scalping King Kohli as his debut wicket to leading India to historic victories on foreign soils, Bumrah has come a long way. One cannot just draft the greatest fantasy cricket team of all time without including Bumrah.

(x) Lasith Malinga(vc): The Sri Lankan ace pacer in his prime was a nightmare for the opposition batsmen. The Mumbai veteran has unarguably been the most successful bowler in the Indian cricket league. With 170 wickets to his name, the quickie has been the leading wicket taker in the history of the illustrious tournament. Having him as the vice captain of this fantasy team could prove to be a great alternative.

(xi) Amit Mishra: The leg spinner remains a vital cog for the Delhi franchise. The canny customer has picked more than 150 wickets in the tournament, including three hat tricks which is the most by any bowler in the tournament. Known for turn, flight and parabola, the 38 years old troubled batsmen with his pinpoint accuracy and subtle variations. Any team would be lucky to have the services of an experienced campaigner like Mishra ji.
