Red Devils' strategies to offer this wunderkind to Juve to bring in this Defender
Red Devils ready to pay the release clause for Gleison Bremer
Manchester United is preparing a 'facilitation' scheme to transport Juventus' centre defender, Gleison Bremer, in the next summer transfer market. The Red Devils offered transfer money plus handed over wunderkind Mason Greenwood to Turin. The Reds' interest in Bremer has been well documented, but now news has emerged that they are willing to spend the money the Bianconeri want.
Bremer won the Serie A Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020/21 with Torino and is also on the radar of Real Madrid and Chelsea. Selling Greenwood in a swap deal would be quite a bold move, but it could help to let him go easily instead of looking for a buyer, as Man United have a price tag of £34 million for those interested in the player. According to the La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Man United has prepared £51 million and Greenwood will be able to convince Juventus to let Bremer go.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato claims that United have intensified contact with Bremer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe hoping to get him in before the summer. Juventus could technically ask for more money from Bremer. The reason is, he recently signed a new contract with a release clause, but will only be active in 2025, which is reportedly worth between £51 million- £60 million. Bremer made a controversial move from Torino to city rivals Juventus in 2022 and has since been a key part of Massimiliano Allegri's rise to power at the Old Lady. The Bianconeri have struggled recently and have slipped to third place in Serie A, but still have an impressive defensive record with 23 goals conceded in 29 league matches.
However, Juventus has a 'disease' when it comes to scoring goals this season. They only scored the ball 44 times, less than Inter Milan's 71 goals. And that's why Greenwood could be an attraction for them. The wunderkind is reviving his career at Getafe in Spain and has scored eight goals in 27 games. Man United has reportedly decided they do not want to loan him out any longer and want to sell him, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid interested. New owner Ratcliffe last month left the door open for Greenwood to return to Old Trafford despite the club previously indicating he would not play for them again. Greenwood reportedly does not have a big desire to return to Man United.
