Rohit Sharma completed his 30th century; Gill completed his 4th ODI century.
A storm of Indian batters was seen in the last match of the three-match ODI series being played against New Zealand. Team India Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored centuries for Team India after losing the toss. Then, with balanced batting in the lower order, Hardik and Shardul scored 385 for nine wickets in the total quota against the Black Caps in the 3rd ongoing ODI at Holkar, Indore.
Rohit and Gill once again shared an unassailable partnership for the first wicket of 212 runs. Then, both of them put together a 200-run partnership in no time. In this match, 35-year-old India's skipper Rohit ended the ODI century drought that has been going on for three years. He completed 100 runs off 83 balls, hitting nine fours and six sixes, and completed his 30th ODI century, equalling Australian batter Ricky Ponting's tally of 30 ODI centuries. Running in top form with the captain, Gill scored his 4th ODI century off 72 balls, including 14 fours and four sixes in this innings.
Vice-captain Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur took advantage of the bad start that the Indian team got. Playing just 36 balls, Hardik scored four fours and three sixes and completed his 9th ODI half-century. Shardul was dismissed for playing a handy inning of 25 off 17 balls, while Hardik lost his wicket after scoring 54 off 37 balls.
India has already won the series after winning the first two matches of the three-match ODI series. Shubman Gill scored a double century in the first match, and Team India got a thrilling 12-run victory. In the second match, the bowlers wreaked havoc and bowled out the Kiwi team for 108 runs. By losing two wickets in 20.1 overs, Team India made an unbeatable lead in the series by winning. Till writing, the Kiwis were 73-1 after ten over, and they still needed 313 runs to win this match.
