Portuguese star Ronaldo has been hit with a lawsuit for promoting Binance NFTs

The 5-time Balon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has run into problems again. The Al Nassr ace striker is now reportedly facing a class action lawsuit in the United States for promoting Binance cryptocurrency NFTs. Last November 2022, Ronaldo signed a sponsorship contract with Binance to promote NFTs. At that time, CR7 said NFTs would reward his fans for years of support.

"It's important for me that we create something memorable and unique for my fans because they are a big part of my success," Ronaldo said at the time. “With Binance, I can create something that not only reflects the spirit of the game but also rewards fans for their support over the years,” he added. Unfortunately, now Binance is experiencing problems. Their founder, Changpeng Zhao was found guilty of money laundering. Changpeng was also required to pay a fine of $50 million.

Now, as per reports, it is claimed that a group of people in the United States are suing Ronaldo in a Florida court. The lawsuit was filed on Monday (27/11/2023). Unmitigated, the value of the class action lawsuit against Ronaldo is claimed to reach $1 billion. This group of people felt that Ronaldo's promotion was the cause of them experiencing huge losses in investing through Binance.
