Sunrisers Eastern Cape will cross swords with Durban Super Giants for the grand finale of the SA 20, 2024. The game is scheduled to be played at the Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday, February 10. 

The Sunrisers topped the league chart in the group stage with seven wins, two losses and one match ending in no result, collecting 33 points in total. Later on, they faced Durban Super Giants in Qualifier 1, where a 51-run win paved their way straight to the finals.

The defending champions led by Aiden Markram will try hard to defend their title. SEC had impressed so far with their batting and bowling prowess. Just another satisfying performance and they are going to add a second title to their cabinet. 

On the other side, Super Giants had also played an impressive game in their league stage winning seven games and losing just three in 10 games, racking up a total of 32 points. In the playoffs stage, they lost against Markram and Co.  Yet later managed a strong comeback against Joburg, winning by 69 runs in the second qualifier to meet SEC again in the finals. 

The Keshav Maharaj-led side will be missing the services of Marcus Stoinis and Noor Ahmed, who will be unavailable due to their national duties. 

Now, the Giants have a good chance to turn the table and avenge their loss and clinch the prestigious silverware.

Match Prediction

The defending champions will drive confidence from their recent win against Durban Super Giants in the first Qualifier. Keshav Maharaj and his men are expected to put up a tough fight but we expect DSG to come at the top overcoming all hurdles and clinching their second SA20 title.
