Preview 

MI Cape Town (MICT) and Johannesburg Super Kings (JSK) square off in match 23 of the second season of the SA20 League on January 29 (Monday) at Newlands, Cape town. 

MICT witnessed some decent knocks from the middle order in their most recent clash but lacked that one big knock from a key batter that could change the fate of the game. 

Liam Livingstone, Kieron Pollard and Sam Curran got good starts but failed to convert it into something significant. These three will hold the key for MICT in the middle order. 

Rassie Van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton have done exceptionally well as an opening pair for the team. Dussen, who is known to be a consistent batter for the Proteas in the international circuit, has struggled to get going off late. 

Skipper Pollard has constantly made changes in batting order which to a certain extent has affected the momentum of the hosts. 

Dewald Brewis has shown promise with bat in hand and experimenting with his position in the batting order will only hamper the team. 

The bowlers have struggled with their line and lengths and that is another area where MICT needs to work on. Nuwan Thusara, Kagiso Rabada and Kieron Pollard will be the bowlers to keep an eye on. 

George Linde has been amongst the wickets for MICT. They also have a good wicket taking option in Sam Curran who could deliver important breakthroughs. 

JSK will be looking to play an aggressive brand of cricket on Monday. They seemed in good touch in their last outing which was cancelled due to rain. 

After a dismal performance against Paarl Royals, skipper Faf Du Plessis was finally back amongst runs striking the ball fiercely at a staggering strike rate of 208 against the Pretoria Capitals. 

Lues du Plooy will be another key batter to watch out for. The vastly experienced southpaw has a great strike rate in this format and has been Super Kings’ standout batter this season. 

JSK possess a deep batting order with Moeen Ali coming in at five followed by Donovan Ferreira at six who is very capable of hitting the long ball. 

There is no lack of options in this batting order and if someone can step up and chip in with a substantial knock, JSK will have a good chance of winning. However, batters have struggled to convert their starts.

Nande Burger and Lizaad Williams will be the frontline pacers whereas Moeen Ali and Imran Tahir will constitute the spin bowling department.
