‘SKY’ the first Indian batter to record three straight golden ducks in ODIs
Suryakumar Yadav is one such batsman in the Indian cricket team who also monopolizes the limelight for his exclusive 360-degree style of gameplay and also created multiple records in the T20I cricket that worked as a catalyst for him to cruise to the top of the international rankings in the shortest format of the game.
But things aren’t going right for the Indian superstar in recent days, he is now in the headlines for his poor performance with the bat in ODIs. This resulted in him owing an unwanted record in the format. Suryakumar became the first Indian batter to record three consecutive golden ducks in ODIs after India’s third match against Australia in Chennai.
The first two times, he was trapped by Aussie pace star Mitchell Starc on the very first ball of the innings. In the third ODI, he made it three in a row when he was sent back by raging spinner Ashton Agar.
Other Indian players to register three successive ducks in ODIs are Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Zaheer Khan
In the overall cricket fraternity, Yadav was the 14th batter to enlist his name on the woeful list. This list also includes legendary cricketers like Alec Stewart, Shane Watson and Andrew Symonds.
