The Chepauk Super Gillies lost their previous match in a last-ball thriller while chasing 170 runs against the Dindigul Dragons. In the first innings, Rahil took three wickets along with R Rohit who picked two to restrict the flow of runs. Harish Kumar, Lokesh Raj, M Silambarasan and Baba Aparajith also contributed in the bowling attack picking one wicket apiece. The heroics of Adithya Prakash smashing 44 runs off 30 balls and Suboth Bhati’s small but effective cameo of 31 runs off just 13 deliveries added on to the scorecard of 170 runs. The chasing was not up to the mark for the CSG batters, while the skipper scored 37 runs, their star batsman’ Baba Aparajith played an outstanding knock of 74 runs off just 41 deliveries. But all went in vain as there were not much support from the other batters in the squad. When 11 were needed off the last over to win, the last over bowled by Saravana Kumar was no less than a perfect drama. The first ball went for a boundary from the hands of Ramalingam Rohit, only to hit the next ball in the secure hands of Suboth Bhati. The very next ball again went for a four followed by a single in the fourth delivery of the final over. The fifth was a run out in the form of Lokesh Raj who went back to the pavilion.  In the final delivery when CSG needed 2 runs, a flick from Rahil Shah was well collected by the third man fielder and took off the bails as Rahil was nowhere near the finishing line with taking the second run. That made their side lose against DD by just a mere margin of 1 run.
