The table toppers Dindigul Dragons will cross swords with Lyca Kovai Kings in the 16th match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu T20 League. SCF Cricket Ground at Salem will host the game on Sunday, June 25. 

The DD side is playing excellently under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin. They have presently won all the three matches played so far are are ruling the Tamil Nadu T20 League points table. In the previous match, the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy played exceptionally well picking up three wickets while Adithya Ganesh and Suboth Bhati played well while batting down the order. Their heroics resulted in the Dragons winning the match against the Chepauk Super Gillies by a narrow margin of one run. 

On the other side, LKK won three out of their last four matches in this league season and are placed in the second position in the points table. Their bowling side have dominated the game so far and hence it will not be easy for the Dragons’ who are already facing issues with their top-order batters. Opener S Sujay smashed 72 runs off just 59 deliveries in the previous match against the Ba11sy Trichy which helped the Kovai Kings to secure a win by 6 wickets. Also, they have M Siddharth and Shahrukh Khan who took three and two wickets respectively against the Trichy side. 

It will be interesting to watch how both sides leverage each others’ weaknesses to get a thumping win in the upcoming match.

Match Prediction

Both sides basically need to understand and utilise each other’s weaknesses to get a grip on the game. The Kyca Kovai Kings have previously done well against the Dindigul Dragons, but this time they will face a very strong side. It will basically be a game of the bowlers and the Dragons have a slight edge over the Kovai Kings in terms of bowling attack. Hence we expect the Dindigul Dragons to win this game.
