Mumbai beats Rajasthan to register its 4th win of the season

In the 42nd match of the IND T20 League where Mumbai faced off against Rajasthan in the epic 1000th league match. Aussie all-rounder Tim David was the superhero for 5-time league winner, MUM, in this match. Following his 3 consecutive sixes when the Hosts needed 17 off 6 balls against the Pink Army in the last over and he snatched victory from the Royals’ jaws.

With this win, Mumbai has 4 wins out 8 matches with 8 points in the league and the Paltans moved to 7th in the points table. On the other hand, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan is still in the top 3 after playing 9 matches and winning 5, losing 4 matches in the league.

It was the perfect gift for the 6-time league winner Rohit Sharma who turned 36 on this day and the Hosts did not disappoint their skipper and won this thrilling encounter for their skipper. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma failed to deliver a big show on his birthday and went back to the pavilion cheaply on the score of 3 off 5 balls after becoming the victim of Sandeep Sharma’s slow delivery.

After this, the likes of Surya Kumar, Tilak Varma, Green and Tim David guided Mumbai to cross the line and secured a win for the MUM in a packed Wankhede stadium. However, Sanju Samson reacted to this loss and appreciated the marvellous innings of Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-handed batter smashed a hundred against Mumbai in this match, scoring 124 off 62 balls that included 16 fours and 8 huge sixes in his sublime innings.

Sanju said, 'When the time was out, we were thinking of dealing with the way Suryakumar Yadav was batting. We had also dealt with Surya but then Tim David did something special. The Pink Army’s skipper told Aussie all-rounder David was also a factor during this. Samson said, 'The ground was wet, although it was not that wet. We expected this and we also had a good experience of facing such a situation.

Samson praised the way his side RAJ played against MUM in this match. Samson said, 'The way we have been playing for the last 9 matches, whether it is a win or a close defeat, it shows that our game is of a high level. We maintain focus on what can come under control. We will continue to give such a tough fight.'

The 28-year-old captain of the side also praised Jaiswal during the post-match presentation. The wicket-keeper batter added that 'Unfortunately, Jaiswal was part of the losing team but I am personally very happy for him. I was expecting Yashasvi to do something special and he did that. He scored 70 in the last match as well, we felt that his century was just around the corner. The left-handed batter Jaiswal played an excellent inning that will be remembered for a long.

In this match, Rajasthan scored a mammoth score of 212 runs after losing 7 wickets while batting first. In response, the middle order of Mumbai chased down the target in 19.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. It was the fourth-biggest successful chase in IND T20 League history.
