Vastrakar ruled out; Harmapreet Kaur uncertain ahead of Semifinal

India have suffered a massive blow ahead of the summit semi final clash against Australia. Fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar has been ruled out of the tournament with an illness. The International Cricket Board Technical Committee has approved Sneh Rana as Vastrakar’s replacement in the squad. Apart from that India are sweating over the readiness of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who was also reported ill in the build-up to the game and required hospitalisation. 

It is learnt the Indian Cricket Board is keeping a close tabs on Harmanpreet and a decision on her participation will be taken a little closer to the game. 

The Indian captain has had a substandard World Cup so far with only 66 runs from 4 innings to her name. Vastrakar too failed to make an impact on the tournament. She has picked two scalps from four games at a poor average of 44.50 and an economy rate of 7.21. 

If Harmanpreet misses this fixture, her deputy Smrithi Mandhana will lead the women in blue
