The upcoming match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Thursday, October 26 will take place between England and Sri Lanka. The defending champions England may face an early elimination from the World Cup ODI 2023 when they take on the Islanders in the 25th match of the marquee event. 

The Three-Headed Lions faced a humiliating defeat against the Proteas at the Wankhede, Mumbai. The Markram-led side against the trembling England bowling side, posted 399 runs in the first innings. While Reeza Hendricks and  Rassie van der Dussen posted 50-plus scores, Heinrich Klassen went on to score a fabulous century to boost the scorecard. England failed to stand against the strong bowling unit of the Porteas and were bundled up in just 22 overs at the score of 170. 

On the other side, Sri Lanka got a close win against the Netherlands. Sadeera Samarawickrama smashed 91* runs in the chase a total of 263 runs. Sri Lanka have several injury concerns and now Matheesha Pathirana’s availability is also uncertain for the rest of the competition.
